Conditions We Treat – Inflammation
Inflammation may be defined as the bodies response to injury. It involves a cascade of blood factors and tissue factors all designed to repair the site of injury.
Inflammation may also be mediated by the bodies response to reject its own tissue, commonly known as autoimmune disease.
Within these processes the use of anti-inflammatory agents are beneficial and modulate the usual pain associated with repair and regeneration. Stem cells and other factors like PRP assist in bringing in and establishing new blood vessels to the affected area. This aids tissue regeneration and repair.
PRP is anti-inflammatory by virtue of its effects on musculoskeletal injuries of tendons, muscles and joints.
PRP can be injected into tennis elbow, hamstring tendons, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinosis, bursitis and areas of osteoarthritis.
